The state of the union address as outlined by me:

Oki doke. Here we go…. President enters 8:08 cst. Blue power tie. Sharp!

I. Introduction
Death of Coretta Scott King. Great leader in civil rights.
Humbled by the privilege. Issues. Not partisan. State of the union is strong. “Together we will make it stronger” Hope for an easier life. Leading the economy. Only way to protect our people is by our leadership so that US may continue to lead.

II Seek the end of tyranny in our world for our future. Sept 11 showed us that dictatorships harbor WMD and terrorists. Every step makes us better and the world better. Not a hopeless dream advance of freedom. Writing a new chapter in self-government. More than half the people in our world now live in democratic nations. Not in Zimbabwe, north Korea, Syria. Islam is terror. Bin Laden must be taken seriously. Armed with WMD. Terrorists use weapons of fear. Examples: London, school kids, etc. we love our freedom and we will fight to keep it. This is a time of testing. We cannot retreat within our borders. If we leave these attackers alone, they will come after us in our own home. Islam again is the enemy. US will not surrender to evil. Will not retreat. Isolationism is not going to work. Comparison to us involvement in WWII. Without us, a divided Europe, etc. Afghanistan. We have a clear plan for victory in Iraq. Reconstruction of economy of Iraq. We are their allies in the “cause for freedom” Confident in our plan for victory. “We are winning!” The road to victory is the troops road home. As Iraq can take over, troops will come home. Those decisions will be made by the military. Not by politicians in DC. “Hindsight alone is not wisdom and second guessing is not a strategy. “ Only way to defeat terrorism is to offer democratic freedom. Egypt as a model. Palestine as a model. Both recent elections. Iran’s regime sponsors terrorism. Iran is defying world with their nuclear weapons. US will rally the world to confront these threats. We respect you, Iran. We hope to be close friends one day with a free and democratic Iran. We must take initiative and not be isolationist. (isolationism is a theme throughout this speech, in regards to what we should avoid in our foreign affairs)

III. We must prevent terrorism at home. Reauthorize the patriot act to allow law enforcement to have the best tools. (never mind that this is un-American. don’t believe me? It says so in the bill of rights) This will keep us from being hit with attacks again. Presidents need bipartisan support to lead this country and to defeat the enemy. If we had heard the phone calls of the guys who crashed the planes into the trade center, we could’ve prevented it all.

IV. Our economy is vigorous and healthy. America in the last 2 years has created over 4.6M new jobs. American economy is the best in the world. New competitors of china and India are present. This economy could not function without immigrants who are not bad for the economy. "retreat" is a common theme as in, we wont do it. We will shape our economic future. Last 5 years $880M in your hands due to tax cuts have created 4 continuous years of growth. Tax relief expires in the next few years. If we do nothing, taxes will skyrocket. "I urge congress to act responsibly and make the tax cuts permanent." Eliminating 140 programs this year due to underperforming. $14B next year by cutting these. Cutting deficit in half by 2009. Earmark reform. Pass the line item veto. (good thinking! Give legislative power to the executive branch. Awesome!) By 2030 60% of the federal budget will be social security and medicare. “Congress did not act last year on my proposal to save social security. “ (Democrats stand and go nuts. Hilarious. His plan was great, assuming that everyone could somehow, miraculously gain at least 9% return on their investments. If its so easy just throw all the money into that magical box and the world will all be wealthy!) Proposes a commission that will reform ss and Medicare. Commission would be bipartisan. Open more markets for all that Americans make and grow. We want people everywhere to buy American. “Given a level field, no one can out produce the American worker.” (unless the world work force is able to unionize as well. Then the work week devolves into 20% labor and 80% laborers rights. On the bright side, the pay is substantionally greater. Model: general motors)

V. Need orderly and secure borders. We need border protection. We need affordable health care. Responsibility to the poor and to help them have insurance. Health savings accounts. Make this coverage portable. Congress should pass medical liability reform this year to curb malpractice suits.

VI. “AMERICA IS ADDICTED TO OIL.” $10B since 2001. Advanced energy initiative. Solar and wind technology. Clean and safe nuclear energy. We must change how we power our autos. Hydrogen and hybrid. Corn and woodchip ethanol within the next 6 years. Technology to cut back on imported fuel 75% by 2025. No more need for middle eastern fuel.

VII. To keep America competitive. American competitiveness initiative in math in science. Double commitment to science research in the next 10 years. Research and development tax credits. Keeps us innovative. Encourage students to take more math and science. No child left behind is raising the bar. 30k math and science professionals in the classrooms in the next few years as well as 30k teachers trained to teach AP match and science classes. American competitiveness initiative. Teen drug use down 19% and teen pregnancy down over last 12 years. Less abortions now than in the last 30 years. Youth Initiative led by first lady. Resources for kids to stay in school.

VIII. 2 new supreme court justices. Judges must serve the law and not legislate from the bench. Calls for Ban on human cloning. Ban human embryo research. “Human life is a gift from our creator. Not for sale.” Reforms for those in DC. Ethics and what not. Let us care for one another. $85B committed to New Orleans area and gulf coast hurricane victims including building better levies and what not. Reform education and make it easy for the poor to own homes. (Huh?) Aids can be defeated. Half of aids cases in the world are in African Americans. (Huh?)

IX. Closing. “History on an arc.” Examples of what if Lincoln had only gone halfway, then maybe we would be a unified nation who still had slavery. We cant go halfway. Our nation is called to leadership in a time of consequence.
May God bless America!

President Ford is doing better, after being treated for awhile for pneumonia. I don't know a lot of details about this but it caught me off-guard, as I thought he had died in the mid-nineties along with common courtesy, the quest for equality and the will to become a better peoples. Weird.

Exposure of small truths:

ut isnt that bad but as high as their player payroll must be, they suck a lot. (fans are jerks too)

The price of a gallon of 87 octane unleaded gasoline in baghdad has increased about 600% in the past 3 weeks, due to an effort by the Iraqi goverment (read American Government) to curb the sales of black market crude. The new, inflated price, however, is still well under $1 per gallon.

People who insist on using the on ramp onto interstate 45 south near bay area are asking to be killed. Lots of folks on borrowed time, judging by some things Ive seen recently. solution: use the quicker and safer el dorado on-ramp.

General Motors will file for bancruptcy protection in 2006.

As some of you may know, I am not very well behaved. I make no apologies for this, as it cracks me up.

24 starts back up in about two weeks. Since everything else on tv, even the stuff that used to be good, now sucks, and that everything good has been cancelled, this is a welcome addition.

That last sentence was a slight run-on.

I am hungry.

Rednecks arent very smart but tend to be arrogant anyway.

Christmas was sad this year. Such mass-consumerism. Would Jesus even recognize it?

The people of Gulf Port, MS took the hardest part of Hurricane Katrina, sustaining more loss and devestation than anywhere else. Unlike the folks from New Orleans though, they are putting it back together the best they can, without the what-about-me and what-do-i-get mentality.

trau.
