Sonic... Americas New Social Hot-spot?
If I were young and single in the age of Covid19 and looking for a place to go to interact with others - especially girls - I would go to Sonic. As you may know, Sonic has been America's drive-in for over 60 years. In that time they have perfected sodas and slushes, delightfully mixed with flavored syrups and served on pellet ice in up to a 44oz thermally-sound styrofoam cup - much to the delight of incognito would-be party-goers who, with the addition of just the right balance of liquor, create the perfect cocktail. Taking a look at their website this morning didn't disappoint as they are currently offering Red-Bull Summer edition slushes just in time for 90° weather.
All of that doesn't necessarily lend itself to the notion of social interaction, but it could if you are creative. What I would do, if I were young and single, is bring a bottle of (whatever) a dry erase board and some markers. Then I would pull up, order, mix, chill and start looking for neighboring vehicles with people like me that are dying to interact. Then write a nice hello on my board, followed next with a phone number for general texting and zooming and what not. Cool. Then the usual stuff of having a drink, burger or ice cream together - albeit from safely within my own vehicle and the other party in their own.
In a world of uncertainty and fragmentation... Sonic.
